Is it possible to make the zoomed in view layer 2 (rather than layer 3 as it is at the moment), the reason being is that Spheremap has layer 2 as the layer that has all the detailed information on it, so if you're in SL and have the detailed view, then go to RK, CSPmap will be on layer 2 as well, and if you've got layer 3 (detailed) up and you go to SL, you'll end up with layer 1 (aka non-detailed) on, having 1 and 2 synched for CSPmap and Spheremap means less mucking around with zooming in and out whenever you go to/from SL

Cheers,

This is precisely the reason I still use an earlier CSPmap and have no plans to upgrade. Why some people insisted on having that utterly pointless extra layer added I will never know...

Well, this is kind of a thing that should be fixed by Funcom... there shouldn't be any relation between the RK map's settings and the SL map's settings. However, I'll give you a relatively simple guide to disable that first wompah map layer... (however, I'm not going out of my way to support this)

If you go into the CSPmap directory (\cd_image\textures\planetmap\CSPmap\ in your Anarchy Online installation), you'll see a series of .TXT files. Each file represents the different versions of the map (rk1, rk2, etc...). Each file begins with the same few lines and looks like the following: (this block starts from the 2nd line of each file)

Code:
Type Rubika

File CSPmap/CSPmap.bin
TextureSize 128

Size 384 512
Tiles 3 4
MapRect 7 0 360 457
FilePos 0
FilePos 3087
FilePos 7459
FilePos 17472
FilePos 18368
FilePos 27388
FilePos 45714
FilePos 65799
FilePos 72735
FilePos 79550
FilePos 92860
FilePos 102558

File CSPmap/CSPmap.bin
TextureSize 128

Size 1152 1280
Tiles 9 10
MapRect 55 0 944 1144
FilePos 107620
FilePos 118837
FilePos 136511   ....

You can get rid of the first layer by eliminating the entry for it in each of the TXT files. The result should look like:

Code:
Type Rubika

File CSPmap/CSPmap.bin
TextureSize 128

Size 1152 1280
Tiles 9 10
MapRect 55 0 944 1144
FilePos 107620
FilePos 118837
FilePos 136511   ....

If you mess things up, you can always erase the CSPmap directory and re-install it.

mm, that does work, however why not just have the small version first, then the large version, then quest layer, with whompas layer being last? I dont foree the whompa layer being used that often (especially with the arrows already on the detailed layer) - so if it's at the end, it wouldn't cause issues.... It's an easy fix, and wouldnt have to be re-done every time theres a new version released (unlike the killing the whompas layer)

Well, the buttons to switch between layers are "zoom in" and "zoom out".. it doesn't make much sense that you click "zoom in" three times to get to the view that's smallest with the least detail.

Besides, they're in the processes of changing around how the map window works. I'm not going to make any drastic changes until I see how the next live patch effects the map. Unfortunately, I can't test it myself (no SL), so you guys will have to let me know. Hopefully they'll have the map "remember" which layer you were on last time you were on RK.

Well, first thanks for the great map! And I personally don't see the problem between the map layers, so it's one click more or less, I can live with that, it's not like it's the only thing I have to change when traveling to and from SL... the whoompah-map, although not so often used, is a nice touch in my opinion. And hopefully with the new SL map coming from MsIdoru, the SL map could also get a bit better, it's so crowded atm...
